What's New in OpenClaw — A Few Updates Worth Knowing About

OpenClaw has been releasing updates at a pretty fast pace lately. Here are a few changes that are actually worth paying attention to.

Apple Watch Support

You can now interact with your AI bot directly from Apple Watch — check messages, send quick replies, approve pending actions — without picking up your phone.

On iPhone, the chat interface also got cleaned up. Behind-the-scenes tool activity no longer clutters your conversation, so the chat looks a lot more like a normal messaging app.

AI Can Now Delegate to Other AI

This feature is called subagents. The idea is simple: if you give your bot a complex task — say, "go through these files, write summaries, and compile a report" — it can now split the work and run parts of it in parallel using sub-tasks, then bring everything together at the end.

These sub-tasks can even spawn their own sub-tasks, up to three levels deep.

For anything multi-step or high-volume, this makes a real difference in how efficiently things get done.

Discord Bots Can Now Send Buttons and Menus

If you have OpenClaw connected to a Discord server, this update changes the experience quite a bit:

Your bot can send messages with buttons and dropdown menus — no more typing back commands
Replies stream in as they're generated, so you see the content arriving in real time
The bot's status shows clearly at each phase — thinking, running a tool, done, error

It starts to feel a lot less like a text command interface and more like an actual participant in the server.

Scheduled Tasks Are More Reliable

A lot of people use OpenClaw to run things on a schedule — a daily news digest, a weekly report, that kind of thing. This update fixed a batch of issues:

Tasks that were silently skipping execution now run correctly
Multiple tasks triggered at the same time no longer interfere with each other
Completed tasks can now push results to a URL of your choice

If you had scheduled tasks that felt unreliable before, this should be noticeably better.

Memory Search Now Works in Non-English Languages

OpenClaw can store things you've discussed and recall them later. The underlying search was rewritten to handle Chinese, Japanese, and other non-Latin languages properly. If you've been chatting in Chinese and found that the bot couldn't always remember things correctly, that's now fixed.
